The latest scope to the market for winter 2024, the HikMicro Stellar 3.0 is the next step in thermal imaging technology with it's shutterless technology. Traditional thermal rifle scopes require a physical shutter to click over the sensor and freeze the image in order to reduce the noise in the image you see. HikMicro have developed software which replaces the physical shutter system which means there are no more annoying interruptions when you are about to take a shot. A new larger screen provides a more immersive image and a wider field of view. Image Pro 2 uses intelligent algorithms to build extra detail in the image.

The SQ50L delivers even better performance than previous 12 Micron 640x512 sensors thanks to this new generation sensor having a sub 15mK NETD rating. The built in internal lithium batteries in combination with the removable and rechargeable 18650 battery provides a 9 hour run time. The 18650 battery is inserted into the left hand turret. The 1000m LRF is built within the lens of the unit saving weight and keeping the scope a reasonable size. An onboard ballistic calculator will display your bullet drop over different ranges and display an aiming point on the reticle. Simply input the velocity, weight and Ballistic Coefficient of your projectile and the software will do the rest!

The top turret is the control wheel for accessing the menus and adjusting magnification. Underneath the right hand turret is the USB-C port for charging the scope up and transferring data. The HikMicro sight app can also be used to transfer videos and pictures as well as control the major settings for the scope.

Stellar 3.0 SQ50 scopes have 6 colour palettes to choose from and 5 different zero profiles allowing you to swap between different bullets or swap the scope onto different rifles. Recoil activated recording can be set to automatically capture your shots and a microphone within the scope also captures sound. The base optical magnification is 3.6x and the digital zoom allows up to 26.6x. The buttons at the eyepiece provide instant access to turning the unit on and off, recording and switching the colour palettes.
